As part of Solarize Mid Maine, Insource Renewables installed a 6.7kW roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system in Clinton. The system was sized to offset 90-100% of the electricity consumed on-site.
The array is installed on a screw-down metal roof utilizing SnapNRack metal roof standoffs that seal the roof penetration with the use of a neoprene gasket and high performing sealant. As can be seen on the photograph below, the SnapNRack system utilizes top-down clamps to secure the modules to the mounting rails. The clamps also bond the modules to the rail, thus reducing equipment such as lay-in lugs and bare copper wire that would otherwise be required to provide bonding between the modules.
